Fishing Rod Rack

When i’m sea fishing i can’t seem to cast my beechcaster very far (i’m sure it’s just my technique). I’m thinking of taking my carp gear maybe a 2.75lb test rod or a 4lb spod rod, hoping that the extra flex in the rod will give me that extra distance. Is there any other pros or cons anyone has experienced?

I’m going to buy some new fishing tackle at a local sporting goods store. I know some good bait to get (Berkley Gulp), but I would like to know some additional really good bait choices, lures, also hooks and equipment. What catches fish. I’ll usually be targeting largemouth bass, catfish, crappie and Carp

Also which would be a better buy A fishing Net (i’ve had some trouble landing big fish) or a digital scale (I’d like to really know how big the fish are that i am catching???

I am going to Isle Royale (northern most part of michigan) and I am bringing fishing tackle and we are kind of depending on fish for our 8 day hike. I am an experienced fisher and I just want some pointers on inland lake fish. There are bass, perch, walleye, salmon, trout, catfish and the god aweful carp. Which would be the easiest way to fish for what fish? Bass I am not worried about, I know how to catch them, its walleye and salmon I want, and I am not sure the best way to go about it. Any info would be freakin sweet. thanks
