What size reel should I use to fish for striper bass?
Making a trip to the California Delta (Sacramento side) so I’m trying to get geared up to catch some fish! Also, if you can advise on other tackle, ie hooks, line, sinkers sizes. I could use all the info I could get. OUT!
Fishing murky water for bass or carp or crappie?
My favorite pond to fish at has bass,carp,crappie,panfish and bullhead.Most of the pond is 5-7 feet deep.The water is always brown and murky.When fishing with various tackle do you have any specific recommendations for each type of lure,spinner,plastic worm?
There is no obvious cover.No stumps,logs,drop offs etc.
The easiest fishing technique for catching inland lake salmon/ trout/ walleye?
I am going to Isle Royale (northern most part of michigan) and I am bringing fishing tackle and we are kind of depending on fish for our 8 day hike. I am an experienced fisher and I just want some pointers on inland lake fish. There are bass, perch, walleye, salmon, trout, catfish and the god aweful carp. Which would be the easiest way to fish for what fish? Bass I am not worried about, I know how to catch them, its walleye and salmon I want, and I am not sure the best way to go about it. Any info would be freakin sweet. thanks
why do the fat headed yanks treat carp as being trash fish, but revere bass?
went fishing for carp while on holiday in america, and asked where i should be heading to try for carp in the local tackle shop, the response i got wasn’t exactly helpfull, seems unless they are flicking a spinner about with a 4 foot rod they dont want to know. how can a 2lb bass compare to a 50lb+ carp. if thats what you want to catch fine. but don’t give someone a load of grief for trying to catch something different. and believe me i’ve fished all over the world, yanks are not the most advanced anglers, in fact your far from it.
