Fishing Rod Rack

I have been fishing a few times but always used other people’s equipment. However, I recently went to Wal-Mart and purchased a rod and reel, round container of hooks, round container of split shot weights, and a 6 pack of bobbers.

I fish in the morning from 7:30-11:00 or at night from 6:00-8:30 in a small (55 acre) lake in WV. I mostly catch bluegill, sunfish, and yellow perch. There are the occasional catfish when I drag along the bottom, and some small and large mouth bass.

I usually just fish with live worms from Wal-Mart but I’m wanting to start a tackle box with some artificial lures. Can anyone give me some ideas what types of baits and lures to fill my tackle box with? If you could give me some links to places online where I can buy them it would be great too.

what would be the best rod to get for river and sea fishing? max price £32. It would be good if most the tackle was in it too. eg hooks, weights, floats, etc

my friend and i have recently taken up fishing as a hobby. we only go to the local reservoir (we have to throw the fish back) for now, maybe to the beach eventually (i think we need a licsence).
anyway, how do we catch fish? i only remember what my grandpa taught me when i was a wee lad. i have a lightly equipped tackle box with a few lures, weights, bobbers, and a few other knick knacks. whats the best way to get a fish? should i just use a regular hook and stick some bread on it?
hows my fishing pole? its a Scout rod with a Shakespear Pro-Am 350 rotating.handle thingy (i dont know what its called).
what does the gear ratio do? mine is 3.2:1 and my friend has a 5.2:1.

any tips will be appreciated.

Im starting catfish alot, but I’m wondering what kind an effective rig to use on the strong missouri river. Please go in depth about the length of leaders, weights and such. It would be very helpful.

my old tackle box had 4 containers, and i bought a new soft side tackle box which can hold 5. with all my gear in the original 4, what or some ideas i can use the 5th for?

ex. dedicate each container to a specific type of lures

the setup i have now it

1. weights/hooks etc.
2. soft plastics (worms, leeches etc.)
3. hard baits (minnow baits, rapalas, top water, poppers etc.)
4. spinners
5. ???

i keep tools in the outside pockets such as pliers

what can i put in this 5th container?
